Rheinmetall signed an agreement on 4 March to acquire a 51% stake in DOK-ING, a Zagreb-based developer of uncrewed ground systems for demining and other hazardous missions.
Why Rheinmetall AG is buying DOK-ING d.o.o. (51%)
Rheinmetall said the deal establishes a foothold in Croatia and a competence centre for unmanned military systems. The companies plan joint products including Wingman, an armed uncrewed support vehicle to accompany tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, based on DOK-ING's Komodo heavy platform with a payload above 8.5 tonnes.
“This partnership with Rheinmetall marks the next phase in DOK-ING's development.”
Deal terms and financing
Rheinmetall buys 51% and founder Vjekoslav Majetić, previously the sole owner, keeps 49%. Both parties agreed not to disclose the price. DOK-ING keeps its Zagreb headquarters and management, and engineering and development stay in Croatia.
Regulatory approvals and timing
The transaction required regulatory approval. Rheinmetall announced completion on 1 July 2026; the business now trades as Rheinmetall Unmanned Vehicles d.o.o.
Market context
DOK-ING was founded in 1991 and its mine clearance machines are reportedly used in Ukraine. Croatia's defence minister Ivan Anušić attended the signing, according to tportal.
