Why MSA Safety Incorporated is buying Autronica Fire and Security

MSA said the deal accelerates its fixed detection growth strategy and lets it take part earlier in project design, offering more integrated safety systems across critical infrastructure, energy and marine applications.

“This acquisition accelerates our fixed detection growth strategy by adding a highly complementary, scaled fire and gas systems business.”Steve Blanco, President and CEO, MSA Safety

Deal terms and financing

MSA funded the purchase with cash on hand and borrowings under its existing credit facility. It expects the deal to add to adjusted earnings per share in the first full year of ownership.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Closing was expected in the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. MSA completed the acquisition in July 2026.

Market context

Autronica employs about 500 people. Sentinel acquired it in 2024 in a carve-out of Carrier's industrial fire business, and the sale, together with the earlier agreed disposal of Marioff to Inflexion, leaves Spectrum focused on its US detection brands Det-Tronics and Fireye.
