SAP agreed on 27 March to acquire Reltio, a Redwood City, California-based provider of cloud master data management software, for an undisclosed sum.
Why SAP SE is buying Reltio Inc.
SAP said Reltio would strengthen SAP Business Data Cloud, central to its AI-first strategy, by giving customers tools to unify, cleanse and harmonise data across SAP and non-SAP applications. Executive board member Muhammad Alam said AI cannot reach its potential when data is fragmented across business units and platforms without context.
Deal terms and financing
Financial terms were not disclosed. Reltio's prebuilt industry packs for sectors such as life sciences, healthcare and financial services, and its support for the Model Context Protocol, will be integrated with SAP Business Suite applications and Joule agents.
Regulatory approvals and timing
The deal was subject to customary conditions including regulatory approvals, with closing expected in the second or third quarter of 2026. SAP announced on 7 May 2026 that it had completed the acquisition.
Market context
Reltio, founded and led by Manish Sood, sells AI-native master data management for complex multi-vendor environments. The deal adds to SAP's efforts to draw more non-SAP data into Business Data Cloud, which it launched in 2025 with Databricks.
