Ramp said on 13 March it had acquired Billhop, a Stockholm-based business-to-business payments provider, to expand into the UK and Europe.
Why Ramp Business Corporation is buying Billhop AB
The deal gives Ramp the regulatory infrastructure to onboard businesses headquartered in the UK and EU directly, starting in the summer, and its first international offices in London and Stockholm. Nearly half of Ramp's more than 50,000 customers already transact internationally, according to Tech.eu.
“Europe is home to extraordinary companies. We can't wait to get to work for them.”
Deal terms and financing
Financial terms were not disclosed. Billhop's co-founders said the sale had been completed.
Regulatory approvals and timing
The acquisition was completed on announcement. Ramp launched in the UK in September 2026, its first market outside North America, according to Tech.eu.
Market context
Billhop has about 15 employees and works with more than 30 financial institutions, including card networks and European and UK banks. Ramp's rival Brex had announced European expansion before agreeing a US$5.15bn sale to Capital One.
