Why Nscale Ltd is buying Anyscale

Nscale said Anyscale adds an orchestration layer that spreads training and inference workloads across many GPUs, moving it up the stack towards a vertically integrated AI hyperscaler. Ray has recorded about 740m cumulative downloads, according to Nscale's registration statement.

Deal terms and financing

Financial terms were not disclosed. Anyscale will continue to operate under its brand and serve existing customers, and its team of about 200 people in the US, Europe and India will join Nscale.

Regulatory approvals and timing

The companies expected closing in the second half of 2026 subject to regulatory approvals; Nscale's S-1 filed on 18 September says completion is expected at the time of or concurrent with its IPO.

Market context

Ray moved to the PyTorch Foundation in October 2025 and remains open source; Nscale said it would join the foundation. Nscale filed for a US initial public offering on 18 September 2026.
