Mutares said on 13 February it had signed an agreement to acquire the flooring business of Hamberger Industriewerke, the maker of HARO-branded parquet and hard floor coverings. Terms were not disclosed.
Why Mutares SE & Co. KGaA is buying Hamberger Industriewerke flooring business (HARO)
Mutares chief investment officer Johannes Laumann called the deal an exceptional opportunity to buy Germany's leading parquet manufacturer with a globally recognised premium brand, and said Mutares saw potential to strengthen its core markets and accelerate growth, especially in Asia.
Deal terms and financing
Mutares acquires the flooring operations, including production in Germany and at Hamberger's Bulgarian site in Sevlievo. The business accounts for about half of Hamberger's turnover, Capital.bg reported. The price was not disclosed.
Regulatory approvals and timing
Closing was expected in the second quarter, subject to regulatory approvals. Mutares announced on 31 March 2026 that it had completed the acquisition.
Market context
Founded in 1866, the HARO business leads the German parquet market and sells through specialist retailers and DIY chains. The deal adds a new platform to the Goods & Services segment of Mutares, a listed German investment company.
