Why DigitalBridge Group, Inc. is buying ArcLight Capital Partners, LLC

DigitalBridge said AI is rewiring the global power equation and that managers able to underwrite both digital and energy infrastructure will be best placed for the next phase of growth. ArcLight will keep operating as a distinct business within DigitalBridge.

Deal terms and financing

The consideration comprises a base price of $650m and up to $400m of contingent payments. The deal does not change the terms of SoftBank Group's pending acquisition of DigitalBridge.

Completion requires regulatory approvals, consents from limited partners in ArcLight's funds and the completion of SoftBank's acquisition of DigitalBridge. SoftBank completed that acquisition on 30 September 2026.

Market context

Since its founding in 2001, ArcLight has owned, controlled or operated more than 70 GW of generation and 48,000 miles of transmission and storage infrastructure, representing more than $90bn of enterprise value, and runs an 85-person power development team with a pipeline above 15 GW.
