Why Accenture plc is buying Dragos (majority stake), runZero and NetRise

Accenture said the combination would help operators of power grids, plants and other critical infrastructure see what is on their operational technology networks, understand what is running on those devices and respond to threats, as AI-driven attacks and geopolitical risk rise. runZero adds exposure assessment and attack-surface intelligence; NetRise adds software supply-chain data and firmware-level visibility.

Deal terms and financing

The majority-stake percentage in Dragos was not disclosed. runZero and NetRise were to operate under Dragos, led by co-founder and chief executive Robert M. Lee, and Dragos keeps its vendor-neutral approach.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Closing was subject to regulatory approvals and originally expected in August or September 2026. Accenture said NetRise closed on 31 July, the Dragos investment on 16 September and runZero on 17 September 2026; three Accenture executives joined Dragos's board.

Market context

Dragos employs about 580 people. SecurityWeek counted 37 cybersecurity deals announced in June 2026, of which Accenture's was the largest disclosed.
